It seems the Circuit of the Americas is good to Lewis Hamilton. He won the inaugural race back in 2012, and he's off to a very strong start for this year's race. Hamilton topped both practice sessions today, narrowly edging out Mercedes teammate Nico Rosberg.
You can see the official results from both practices , but Hamilton nailed a best lap of 1:39.941 in the first round and then a 1:39.085 in the second round.
Rosberg was right behind him with a best time of 1:40.233 in the first round and a very, very close 1:39.088 in the second. During round two, Rosberg indicated some odd behavior with his gearbox, but it didn't appear to result in any problems.
There's only one thing to do now: tweet furiously with the #TEAMLH and #LEWISNATION hashtags above. It's Hammer Time, apparently!
