Los Angeles Men vs Women's Favorite Car Colors-October 2024

BOSTON, August 2017 – The automotive data and research company iSeeCars.com released the findings of its Car Color Preferences by Gender Study. In Los Angeles, men have the strongest preference for red color cars by 23.8 percent more than women do while women favor gold the most by 48.4 percent.

iSeeCars.com analyzed almost 780,000 consumer car inquiries on its website and 30 million car sales to identify car color preferences by gender. It found that in Los Angeles men have a greater penchant for five car colors and women have a stronger bias for six colors. For men, after red, their next favorite color is beige by 23.8 percent and for women, gold is followed by yellow which they like 48.2 percent more than men do.

Car Type and Model Preferences

In addition to colors, iSeeCars.com also analyzed the car models that each gender prefers. Across the U.S., men show stronger preferences for coupes, convertibles, and pickup trucks while women prefer wagons, SUVs, and minivans. In Los Angeles, men like the Toyota Tacoma the best by 354.7 percent more than women do. On the other hand, women have the greatest interest in the Volkswagen New Beetle by 202.1 percent.
