Bentley is planning a performance version of its range-topping Mulsanne sedan which will be unveiled at the 2014 Paris Motor Show, and will apparently help celebrate the brands recent GT3 racing success.
Bentley’s CEO Wolfgang Durheimer mentioned to Auto Express at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, that there are plans of a high-performance Mulsanne which would fit with the company’s “sporting luxury” image.
The model is said to follow closely at the footsteps of the recently introduced Continental GT3-R and is expected to keep the twin-turbo 6.75-litre V8 engine but its output will be boosted from the series 377 kW to closer to 410 kW, while the 0-100 km/h sprint time will decrease to less than 5 seconds.
The updated Bentley Mulsanne is also said to feature suspension tweaks and other chassis changes to improve responsiveness. Weight is also expected to be reduced, as seen in the aforementioned Continental GT3-R which lost 100 kg.
Expect more details leading to the vehicles debut at the 2014 Paris Motor Show in October.
