The new Lexus GS range has been launched in South Africa and has adopted a new design philosophy that will set the precedent for future Lexus models. The new Lexus GS range exhibits a distinctive revision in design with the new Spindle Grille with trapezoidal contours set to be the signature feature on all future Lexus models.

Engine Options

The models in the newLexus GS range include the entry-level GS 250 EX which is powered by a 154kW 2.5-litre V6 petrol engine and mated with a six-speed automatic gearbox. The GS 350 EX makes use of a 233kW V6 petrol engine that is also mated to a six-speed automatic gearbox. The GS 450h F-Sport has a similar V6 engine as used in the GS 350 EX and delivers 213kW of power. This offering is further complimented with an electric motor and high voltage battery that pushes the total power output to 252kW. The GS 450h F-Sport makes use of an E-CVT variable gearbox. The GS 450h SE is also powered by the same V6 petrol engine in the F-Sport model but comes with an ‘ultra-comprehensive’ specification grade.

Standard Features

All new Lexus GS models come with a long list of standard features. Some of the notable features include High Density Discharge auto headlights, Daytime Running Lights, fog lights, rain-sensing wipers, leather interior with black trim detail, seat heating and ventilation system, EMV display with HDD navigation, Drive Mode Select, reverse camera and guidance monitor, park distance control, dual-zone auto air conditioning, Bluetooth with voice command and cruise control.

The F-Sport package adds an F-Sport front bumper, boot spoiler, aluminium interior trim, 16-way adjustable Sport seats, Drive Mode Select with Sport S+ and rear window blind. The GS 450h SE incorporates a Moonroof, three-zone climate control, 17-speaker Mark Levinson sound system, 18-way electric seat adjustment, lumbar support adjustment, Walnut wood trim, semi-aniline seat trim, rear and side window blinds and side mirrors with Blind Spot Monitoring (BSM).

All models in the new Lexus GS range are covered by a four-year/100 000 km warranty. EX models are fitted with a Distance Plan Plus with the F-Sport and SE models being fitted with Distance Plan Complete.
