Details of the new Mercedes-Benz Vito have been releasedwhich improves on many aspects of what is already a decent van. While fuel economy is never really the biggest concern for someone buying a Vito, the current model certainly is thirsty for petrol so it is a relief to see that Mercedes-Benz have improved on the fuel economy.
Regarding the exterior and styling on the new Mercedes-Benz Vito, the biggest change comes with the face. Mercedes note that the changed face is a lot more striking and has styling elements from Mercs other line of passenger vehicles while still maintaining a commercial vehicle look. The front bumper now has a honey-comb look to fit the styling of the rest of the vehicle as well as new day-time running lights which come as standard.
Improved Fuel Economy
As mentioned previously, Mercedes has made a concerted effort to improve fuel economy in the new Vito as well as reducing its impact on the environment. CO2 emissions have been reduced by up to 15% and with the option to include BlueEFFICIENCY technology, the fuel efficiency and CO2 rating are both improved further. BlueEFFICIENCY technology is available as an option on the Vito panel van and comes as standard on the Vito crew bus.
The top of range diesel engine comes from the Vito 122 CDI, which is a V6 and produces 165kW (224hp) of power, which Mercedes-Benz note has less effect on the environment while still improving its performance. As always the top of the range petrol engine comes in a little stronger, the Vito 126s V6 engine produces 190kW (258hp) with improved performance and power.
