Nissan is said to reveal an all-new Pulsar hatchback that will build on the success of the Qashqai and compete against the Volkswagen Golf in the C-segment.
The new Nissan Pulsar will be built at Nissans factory in Barcelona, Spain. The teaser image above provides hints of a new V-motion grille (seen on the latest SUVs such as the X-Trail, Qashqai and Murano) and headlights with boomerang-shaped LED daytime running lights.
According to Nissan, the five-door hatchback is ‘designed to meet the specific demands of European car buyers’ and will feature ‘the same high quality, high innovation approach that has come to typify Nissan models.’
The Pulsar name first appeared in 1978 and was widely used for models in Asian and Australasian markets over the course of the last four decades. The Pulsar badge also appeared in certain European markets in the early 1990s on the N14 model. In South Africa, the Pulsar was sold as the “Nissan Sabre”. There were three- and five-door hatchbacks and a four-door sedan.
The new Nissan Pulsar will be officially unveiled in full this week, more details to be revealed then.
