Nice Price Or Crack Pipe: World's Nicest 1981 Chevette For $8,995?
Nice Price Or Crack Pipe: World's Nicest 1981 Chevette For $8,995?-January 2024

The overwhelming majority of voters thought that the was reasonably priced at $45,000; not bad for a machine. Today we're going to ponder a car from the same era, and it may be even more rare than the Callaway 944: a really straight, all-original Chevy Chevette!

I could have sworn that I'd already posted on this car, but I must be mixing it up in my memory with the . That was a full-on rock-smokin' price, but this Chevy is priced far more reasonably: $8,995. Just about all the other Chevettes were crushed 15 years ago, and the few that remain are sunk to their axles in trash-strewn lots- this is likely your only chance to own a show-quality Chevette! But is $8,995 a good price? You tell us!

, thanks to many, many of you for the tip!

It's time for Nice Price Or Crack Pipe once again, where the readers decide whether a car's seller…

662 HP! The is, let's face it, an absolutely insane vehicle. An absurd amount of power, a ludicrous amount of engineering, and a horsepower-to-money ratio that can only be measured on the metric batshit scale. Weirdly, my biggest complaint is how utterly sane it feels. I should clarify that a...

For $18,000, Is This A 280ZX-15?
Lockheed's SR-71 was conceived at the company's Burbank California Skunkworks. Today's 1983 280ZX is similarly turbine-powered, but does its price simply stink? Speaking of stink, a field of slowly decaying Yugos must offer a pungent nose, and for an overwhelming 88% of you, spending nearly thirteen grand on was something...

Quick, list the cars named after exclamations, and including your own because you routinely call it a stupid POS doesn't count. There's the Countach, and today's Saab, named after the Swedish phrase Så nätt den är. This Sonett III may come with a turbo, but will its price have you...

For $1,500, You’re In The Army Now
In his seminal work on what humans find attractive about babies and juvenile animals - (pdf) - Stephen Jay Gould implies that it's the proportion of head to body size that is key. At the other end of the spectrum, today's custom combat caprice has cartoon-sized tires, but will its...

For $3,000, Is This Bunny a Honey?
Volkswagen may not have invented the hot hatch, but with the introduction of the Rabbit-based GTI they certainly refined its execution. Today's '83 edition has seen further refinement with the addition of a 16V mill. Its price however, may not be so fine. If you have a half-way interesting car,...

For $6,950, Have You Considered Every Benz But SECs?
The Grey Market isn't someplace your grandma picks up her Schnapps-Flavored Ensure and Active Sex Life Depends, it's a mechanism for bringing non-federalized cars into the U.S.. Today's Mercedes 500 SEC was just such a grey, but will its current price have you seeing red? Okay, I promise, no more...
