Just as Lewis Hamilton crossed the finish in P1 of the Canadian Grand Prix (), his teammate Nico Rosberg spun off the track desperately grasping for fourth. Luckily for Rosberg, he still managed to finish—the best consolation prize after what was a horrible race.
Rosberg managed to finish in fifth after a valiant effort by Max Verstappen to fight off the Mercedes in the last laps of the race. We’ll see if anything comes about from the bump between Hamilton and Rosberg in the very first turn.
Rosberg’s luck was nonexistent, not only struggling to recover from being offed by Hamilton in the first turn, but also dealing with a car that didn’t want to cooperate with a flurry of steering wheel warnings and a slow puncture in his rear-right wheel forcing him to pit.
Nonetheless he put up a good fight with some impressive driving and a clutch pass against Ricciardo after the change of tires. In the end he should just be grateful he made it to the finish after that spin of desperation in the final lap.
