The is one of the most amazing machines that ever took flight. Not only was it absolutely huge, with its “six pack” of turbojet engines, but its long forward fuselage, feathered trailing edge and folding wingtips gave it an almost swan-like signature appearance. Now, you can view the only surviving example’s cockpit as if you were sitting in it yourself.

Right off the bat the climb schedule placard on the pilot’s yoke shows how the big XB-70 was able to operate in SR-71 Blackbird territory. The wingtip folding panel is also really unique. Considering that this thing was a prototype built in the early 1960s, the cockpit’s mix of tape and round gauges is complex but fairly well organized for the time period.
