This Pontiac Trying to be a Lamborghini Aventador is the Worst Thing You'll See Today
This Pontiac Trying to be a Lamborghini Aventador is the Worst Thing You'll See Today-January 2024
2024-02-19 EST 22:09:45

When the was launched in 2011, folks around the world had to applaud the Italian company for crafting a car that could knock out zero to 60 mph in less than three seconds. Since then, it’s been a favorite of exotic car collectors—and even, uh, some who don’t quite have the means to get the real thing.

Which is how we get of the Aventador. It’s as bad as it sounds.

Found on Craigslist for a whopping $22,500, this bad boy is... well, bad—but not in the good way. It was a good try to make something awesome out of a pretty standard car, but, man. It’s hard to turn a GTO into the far-sleeker Lambo, no matter how desperately you try. In this case, we’re talking a Lamborghini inscription under the passenger side airbag and an angled center console that kind of I guess looks sort of like something you’d find in a Lambo.

Other than that, it’s still a 2004 GTO frame/body, which is a far cry from anything you’d call exotic. It’s got all the original drivetrain and electronics, plus a fake mid-engine because the real engine is, as you would imagine, in the front. According to the owner, it “runs and drives great. All power”. I don’t know if I’m quite convinced.

But, hell, if you’re in the market for a different-looking Pontiac, then we’ve got just the thing for you.

My House Burned Down And My Ride Was Stolen, What Car Should I Buy?
Gordo has had the trifecta of bad luck. His home was burglarized, his car was stolen, then his house burned down. He has since moved on and is now looking for something to drive to bring him some joy again. (Welcome back to ? Where we give real people real...

At $2,499, Could This Incredibly Low Mileage 1999 Honda CN250 Helix Get You To Scoot?
Today’s Honda Helix has only 171 miles on the clock. It also has a digital dash and maybe, the stigma that almost all non-Vespa scooters carry. Will its price still carry the day? I’m always intrigued by the NPOCP candidates that sell while we’re in mid-rumination over their valuation. I...

Why The 2017 Cadillac ATS-V Haunts My Dreams Six Months After Driving It
I drove the so long ago I had to check and make sure the car’s still in production. The six-speed manual, six-cylinder twin-turbo, two-door, rear-drive car has been lauded on Jalopnik already I almost didn’t bother writing about it. But! It’s been stewing in my mind since and I can...

The 2019 VW Jetta Seems Pretty Good And Still Comes With A Stick
The 2019 VW Jetta Seems Pretty Good And Still Comes With A Stick
The new-for- is good example of a car type that’s unfairly falling out of favor: the practical, everyday, compact non-crossover four-door sedan. Also, it’s one of the few cars like this you can still get with a manual, and that feels good. (: Volkswagen wanted me to drive the new...

At $5,750, Could This 2003 Toyota MR2 Spyder Be Your Baby?
Garage Baby is how the seller of today’s MR2 Spyder affectionately describes his car. We’ll just have to see if its price means that this baby’s got backing. Only the good die young, or so we’ve been told in musical manner by Billy Joel. I don’t really know which song...

At $6,000, Could This Zenderized 1987 BMW 325is Make You Believe In Coupé De Foudre?
Now’s the time to snap up a classic BMW E30s while you still have the chance. Today’s 325is looks pretty swell in its Zender effects, but will that make its price extra chancy? Picture yourself on a Vespa, wending your way through the narrow streets of a small Italian village,...
