More than a decade ago, director Dana Brown gave us the quintessential Baja movie . Today, you’ll still hear desert racers and rallyists tell you about how the film turned them on to motorsports. And tomorrow, you can catch the new version. In a real live megaplex theatre near you.

I originally called this a “sequel,” but the people behind it have informed me this flick is an entirely new movie, not a continuation of the original film.

On December 6 2017, Dust 2 Glory (you know Paul Walker is smiling down from gearhead heaven at that one) will be shown at movie theaters all over the country. Just pop your zip code into to see when it’s running in your neighborhood.

If you couldn’t be bothered to watch the trailer, Dust 2 Glory is a feature film-length documentary about the Baja 1000. Expect lots of slow-motion dirt throwing, close-up interviews of greasy guys, and beautiful establishing shots. The camera will bump between different teams, stories, types of vehicles, and will basically capture the essence and awesomeness of racing south of the border.

You’ll be able to see this movie on your computer or TV soon enough, but this Wednesday is your only chance to see it on a big screen. And come on, when’s the last time you heard about Baja racing being shown at major movie theaters?

I bought tickets the day they went on sale, but I still don’t have a date. So if anybody sees a lonely man at a showing on LA’s west side, maybe buy him some popcorn and tell him how much you love Jalopnik. Even if it’s not me, I’m sure whoever you encounter will appreciate it.

Joking aside, this is a cool and rare opportunity to see any kind of motorsports on a big screen and I hope a lot of you get to take advantage of it.
