Watch A Lotus Elise Squeeze Through Every Possible Tiny Gap At Bathurst
Watch A Lotus Elise Squeeze Through Every Possible Tiny Gap At Bathurst-October 2024
2024-02-19 EST 22:11:45

The good thing about the Lotus Elise is that they're small. Delightfully small. So small that you can just cram your way to the front as Dean Evans does in this clip. Evans starts somewhere near the back, but does that matter? Nope.

Welcome to , a feature where we spend that pesky time between race weekends looking at awesome footage from inside the car.

This clip comes from the Lotus Trophy back in 2005, but it's still just as awesome today as it ever was. The Lotus Trophy is at Bathurst's Mount Panorama Circuit, a notoriously circuit in Australia. You're not just trying to avoid the other cars on track—you also need to avoid the hard walls that line much of the track, too.

The Bathurst 12 Hour with its record twenty safety cars would like to remind us all: Mount Panorama

Any miscalculated gap or pass could be the end of your day, especially in a shorter sprint race.

Evans doesn't underestimate the size of the openings here, though. Nope, he just goes for it, and it works. This man has mastered the art of passing.

This Gives A Whole New Meaning To The Phrase 'Clean Racing'
In the highest levels of NASCAR, where pretty much every track is asphalt, being told to “race cleanly” usually just means “don’t wreck anybody if you can help it.” But when it’s time to run dirt, clean racing is something totally different—basically, bust out your nearest duster and get to...
