Welcome to the Jalopnik Weekend Motorsports Roundup, where we let you know what's going on in the world of racing, where you can see it, and where you can talk about it all in one convenient place. Where else would you want to spend your weekend?
There's no Formula One this weekend, booooooo. But! Thank heaven that there is a place outside of F1 called "the rest of the world, specifically, America," because that strange and unfamiliar place does bring us plenty of racing.
Not only is there a NASCAR Sprint Cup race at Darlington, by all accounts a nearly impossible track to master, but there's the famed Long Beach Grand Prix run by IndyCar.
And, since the Long Beach Grand Prix is a huge event (it started out as an F1 race), that also brings you an IndyLights race, and a USCR "showcase," whatever that is.
I think it's a race.
Wanna know what those early Long Beach F1 races looked like?
Bam. So good. Try not to waste the entire day watching that. But if you do, it's a day well-wasted.
If you know about anything we missed, or about good livestreams out there, let us know in the comments.
