Weekend Motorsports Roundup: April 20-21, 2013
Weekend Motorsports Roundup: April 20-21, 2013-January 2024
2024-02-19 EST 22:11:50

Welcome to the Jalopnik Weekend Motorsports Roundup, where we let you know what's going on in the world of racing, where you can see it, and talk about it all in one convenient place. Where else would you want to spend your weekend?

I think we can all agree that . I don't know about you all, but I'd love nothing more than to kick back and soak up some racing.

Man, fuck this week. Is it Sunday yet? No? Fuck that.

Fortunately, there's some great stuff on tap for us this weekend. We've got Formula One in Bahrain, NASCAR in Kansas, IndyCar and ALMS in California and MotoGP for the first time ever in Austin, Texas. There's also the Bol d’Or motorcycle endurance race, and I'm hoping someone can point out a good stream for that one.

Dare I say that it's the best weekend of racing so far in 2013?

Under our new system in the Motorsports Roundup I'll insert the races I know about onto the world map above based on where they're running. We're putting you guys in the driver's seat (just not in the race cars due to various liability issues, unfortunately) by asking you to show us what else is out there, as well as any good live streams on the web. You guys seemed to enjoy it last week so we'll keep at it.

As always, ideas on how we can make this feature better are more than welcome. Thanks for pitching in and happy trails.

All times Eastern.

Nissan Claims Its Failure In Le Mans Will Help In Formula E
Nissan thinks it can use its recent experience building a Le Mans prototype in its electric racing program. That’s interesting, because the experience was centered around the , a radical front-wheel-drive prototype that raced with a functional hybrid system. You know, the part that’s usually electrical. Formula E will be...

This High-Flying Porsche Macan Race Truck Exists And Now All Is Right With The World
I have but one ask of Porsche: everything they build needs to go racing. It doesn’t matter if we’re talking about the latest 911 or the new Panamera. It must go racing somewhere on principle. Otherwise, I won’t accept it as a Porsche. Behold, the Porsche Macan race truck that...

The Skyline That Lied: When Nissan Built A Race Car It Probably Wished You'd Forget
In early 1980s, Nissan was on a mission. It was fighting Toyota for supremacy in the Japanese market, trying to prove itself with and flame-spitting race cars to draw people into the showroom. And it was making a case for itself, but it had a problem. Nissan’s big racing draw...
