Welcome to the Jalopnik Weekend Motorsports Roundup, where we let you know what's going on in the world of racing, where you can see it, and where you can talk about it all in one convenient place. Where else would you want to spend your weekend?
Wow, wow oh wow. This is pretty much one of the best racing weekends of the year, if you can believe it. It's late August, things are warm, it should be one of those last lazy days of summer.
But it isn't.
Virtually all of our favorite racing series are back from some sort of break, and that means you might as well plant yourself on the couch now, instead of heading outside. Formula One returns to Spa (one of the best tracks on Earth), NASCAR does a night race in Tennessee, United SportsCar Racing thunders at Virginia International Raceway, IndyCar pounds around Sonoma, and slides around Daytona.
Like I said, it's pretty damn packed. So packed, in fact that we're even going to get a GP2 race – yes, a GP2 race – on the television. That's pretty damn uncommon.
Oh, and there might even be a WRC stream from the round in Germany, if you can find it.
This is going to be a very nice weekend.
