Weekend Motorsports Roundup, May 10-11, 2014
Weekend Motorsports Roundup, May 10-11, 2014-January 2024
2024-02-19 EST 22:11:50

Welcome to the Jalopnik Weekend Motorsports Roundup, where we let you know what's going on in the world of racing, where you can see it, and where you can talk about it all in one convenient place. Where else would you want to spend your weekend?

In case you , there's an IndyCar race at the namesake track this weekend. No, not the Indy 500, but rather the "Indianapolis Grand Prix," and it's on the Indy road course.

Remember that idea that IndyCar had to have a race at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway on the road…

And if you're thinking that something named "Grand Prix," on the road coarse, with open-wheeled cars means a Formula One race, well good on you for being so smart, except not this time, because it's an IndyCar race.

Which you should know, since I said that already.

Just in case you're worried that we're in for a repeat of the , the notorious F1 race in which exploding tires forced most teams to sit out, there shouldn't be any worry about treacherous equipment failure.

To err is human, so when super-human race car drivers err they do it at the super-worst times. Here

The treachery threat tomorrow comes from rain, though at the moment the forecast for the time of the race in Indianapolis is pretty clear. Even though rain always makes things interesting.

Speaking of F1, there is an F1 race this weekend as well, this time in Spain, if you're Spanish, or Catalonia, if you're a separatist. Either one, really.

Oh, and there's NASCAR, too.
