Happy weekend once again. There are plenty of reasons to celebrate, including a whole lot of racing on television. Go ahead and clear up both your schedules and your DVR boxes, because it’s going to be a fun one.
The Verizon IndyCar Series will begin its Indianapolis Motor Speedway tour this weekend with the Angie’s List Grand Prix of Indianapolis, which will run on the interior road course of the track rather than the oval—well, rectangle—that the 100th running of the Indianapolis 500 occur on at the end of the month.
In other open-wheel competition, Formula One will run its Spanish Grand Prix at Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya. The Spanish Grand Prix will be the first race in which, after a few weeks ago at the Russian Grand Prix. Kvyat will move back to the Toro Rosso in order to “regain his form and show his potential.” Ouch.
NASCAR has a triple header weekend at Dover International Speedway, and the Camping World Truck Series already ran its event on Friday night with a win by series veteran Matt Crafton. The Xfinity Series and Sprint Cup Series will run on Saturday and Sunday, respectively. In the realm of NASCAR, at the moment over which family members have the right to use the Earnhardt name.
Both MotoAmerica and the Superbike World Championship will be on BeIN as well this weekend, and NHRA will be at Atlanta Dragway for the Summit Racing Equipment NHRA Southern Nationals. The schedule failed to load over the week, so if you have access to the MotoAmerica and Superbike showtimes, feel free to share in the comments below. (Apologies for this one.)
The Blancpain GT Series Endurance Cup is at Silverstone Circuit as well, and YouTube live streams will keep you covered throughout the weekend—just keep in mind that every showing has a different stream link.
As for the tape-delayed stuff, you can catch the Blancpain GT Series Sprint Cup, Red Bull Air Race, AMSOIL Arenacross, DTM, Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series, American Sprint Car Series, FIA World Rally Championship, GP2 Series, Red Bull X Fighters, FIM Motocross, Formula DRIFT and the Lucas Oil Off-Road Racing Series.
