First off we should start out this weekend's edition of WMR with a big tip of our collective hat and a hearty "godspeed" once more to NASCAR racer and fellow Jalop , who announced this week that he's getting a ride at the pinnacle of the sport in the Parker is almost certainly most famously known for slapping a on his car, which is probably why they allowed him to race in the first place, and for also being blazingly fast. Parker starts with Swan Racing on November 3rd, and we wish him the best of luck. Though he may not even need it this weekend, as he's already qualified in the Top 5 at Talladega in the Truck Series, where he won his first race .
But as Parker continues his journey on the road to being one successful Jalop, we must remember that this weekend another journey comes to a close. That's right, we're talking about the venerated American Le Mans Series. This weekend is 16th and final Petit Le Mans of ALMS, as the series closes out before its merger with the Rolex Grand Am Series to form .
Yesterday we heard some rumblings that the merged version of America's two sports car racing series
We'll be having a bit more of a tribute to the series later in the day, but as the series bows out you should make sure to watch. It's been a wonderful 16 years, and we'll truly miss it.
