Yes, I’m aware it says “Scion” on the front, and on the key, and on the steering wheel, but the is actually a Mazda 2 sedan. And since it is made by Mazda, it turns out it’s not an inexpensive and dreary Scion at all. It’s damn near cheap and cheerful.
I’ve only driven it about 50 miles or so, and we should have a proper review for you shortly, but I really do like this car. It’s light, it’s chuckable, and unlike most cheap new cars that are solely meant for A-to-B transportation with the least amount of emotion-stirring possible, you actually find yourself smiling, on occasion.
No, it’s not a Miata, but if you’re going to buy a Scion, you might as well get the happy one.
