What Do You Want To Know About The 2016 Volvo V60 Cross Country?
What Do You Want To Know About The 2016 Volvo V60 Cross Country?-October 2024
2024-02-19 EST 22:10:00

Volvo was one of the first out the gate with this whole crossover trend, back when it had the V70 XC in the 1990s, which was just based on a regular wagon. Most crossovers since have gotten more SUV- and van-like, but Volvo’s stayed true to its roots with this, the Cross Country. And I kinda like it.

Oddly enough, the V60 CC does feel like a bit of an afterthought for Volvo. It was introduced only in late 2014, even though we’ve seen the base V60 since 2010, a time so long ago that history has forgotten it. In fairness to Volvo, however, they haven’t had all the money in the world during the intervening time period.

But now they do have quite a bit more money, so in the interim, we get this. It’s been raised two and a half inches over the standard V60, with all-wheel-drive and big shoes to match.

Things I like:

Big shoesComfy seatsIt looks good!

Things I don’t like as much:

The interior feels a bit dated, with fiddly switches, a little screen, and an onerous navigation systemThe steering wheel, while adjustable, still sticks out too far for my tasteIt’s impossible to turn all the electronic nannies off. Even though it says “ESC OFF,” they’re not off. They’re reduced. Barely.

So what do you want to know about it? I’ll be hanging around for a while, so if you’ve got any questions, drop them in the comments below.
