Ogier King Asshole

Let me explain everything that's going on in this little clip, where reigning double WRC champion Sébastien Ogier proves himself to be a wonderful, spectacular asshole.

Last weekend's Rally Sweden had the closest finish of any WRC event in years. Three drivers all had a shot at winning the rally on the very last stage. They were only a few seconds apart leading into the final kilometers, thanks to a number of spins and crashes all throughout the three-day running.

In order of who went onto the final stage, there was Hyundai's Thierry Neuville, who was driving a 2014-spec car. There was Volkswagen's reigning double world champion Sébastien Ogier, driving a 2015 spec Polo. Finally, there was Volkswagen's second-tier driver Andreas Mikkelsen, driving an old 2014 spec Polo.

Neuville put down a blitzing time, potentially good enough for him to win the rally. Then Ogier put down an even faster time, enough to secure him the win. Mikkelsen had to absolutely push his limit to get a time fast enough to win the rally. It would have been his first overall WRC victory.

Then he made a mistake, spun on the stage, and Ogier won.

As Mikkelsen eventually crossed the finish line, Neuville stood there to console him. Then Ogier stuck his head in front of the camera, checked himself out, and walked over to rub his junior teammate's loss in his face.
